Sea trial with Padmos cutter is going well

Early July the UK135 Sjoerd Hendrikje made her maiden fishing trip. This dedicated Flyshooter is the new vessel of the Pasterkamp family, and bustles with state of the art solutions without getting lost in unwanted complexity. ADS van Stigt supplied the specially adapted ZF ToughGear reversing gear complete with a selectable pump drive and control system.

The ZF W10200 SG reversing gear has a newly developed 12,487:1 gear ratio that perfectly suits the Padmos yard design for a modern cutter with a modern ZF reversing gear. ADS van Stigt sales engineer Danny Rijckevorst explains “This ZF gear is specially designed to achieve the required reduction. Also it is fitted with ZF Autotrol land Supershift2, a combination that sets a new standard in safe and slow manoeuvring. The system functions perfectly and contributes significantly to the navigation comfort”.

An integrated propeller shaft brake additionally controls the 3000 mm high efficiency propeller. With this reducer nominally 843 kW @ 1.406 rpm  can be transferred to the propeller.

“We developed a special control system for the ZF reversing gear based on the ZF ClearCommand. Aim was to optimize the manoeuvrability of the vessel even further” says Rijckevorst.

With four MC2000 handles the skipper has full control over the vessel during any fishing process. In the engine room a processor, housed in a sturdy steel cabinet, ensures that everything is under smoothly and reliably control.

ADS van Stigt also supplied a Katsa PTO400 selectable pump splitter gear for two pumps.

The pumps provide pressure for the ships hydraulic system that powers amongst others the winches used to retrieve the fishing nets.

“The last minor adjustments and adaptations found during the sea trials are solved” according Danny, “We will make sure the customer is and remains happy, and wish the Sjoerd Hendrikje and all who sail on her many safe and prosperous voyages”.
