What exactly is SuperShift2?

It is a mechanical/ hydraulic control system for shifting gear more smoothly and quickly. By doing so, it offers more comfort for both the skipper and the passengers. You no longer hear the ship shifting gear.

Can you summarise the advantages in a couple of words?

Fast, silent and comfort when shifting gear.

Does Van STIGT have experience with this system?

The first six were installed in March in three different ships. From this month, we will deliver all our reduction gearboxes as standard with this system, which means that in April a considerable number of other ships will start using SuperShift2. We consider it important that the quality remains high and that we can provide our customers with state-of-the-art technology. SuperShift2 is a great example of this. Our engineers are very enthusiastic about the system.

What systems can you add to it?

SuperShift2 is a ZF system. The brand offers various innovative additions for maritime propulsion systems. For instance, there is ZF Trolling for smooth manoeuvring and a ZF control system for optimum control.
