ZF ToughGear especially adapted for the modern fisherman

ADS van STIGT has received the order to deliver a specially adapted ZF ToughGear reduction gearbox for the fishery sector. The new UK 135 with the name ‘Sjoerd Hendrikje’ will be fitted with equipment including a reduction gearbox and a control system.

The ZF W10200 SG reduction gearbox will have the recently developed gear ratio of 12.480:1 that is suitable for the Padmos design; a modern cutter, powered through a modern ZF reduction gearbox. The reduction gearbox will have the ZF Autotroll and Supershift2 functionality, a combination that sets a new standard in safe and slow manoeuvring. The SG design is patent protected.

The built-in propeller shaft brake will keep the large 3,000-mm high-efficiency propeller under control. With this gear ratio, we can transfer a nominal 843 kW at 1,406 rpm to the propeller.

We have developed a control system especially for the ZF reduction gearbox. This will further optimise the manoeuvring characteristics. Using the 4 MC2000 levers, the skipper can control the ship during every fishing procedure. In the machine room, the processor, housed in a robust steel cabinet, ensures the smooth and effective control of the entire system.

We are proud to thank Padmos and the Pasterkamp family for this great order!
